(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) The Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce invites the public to a silent Remembrance, on Saturday, September 11th.

To mark the 20th year since the horrible terrorist attack on our nation, the public and business community is invited to join together at the Lyons Train Station from 9:30am till 10:30am to remember and reflect in peace.

No speeches, no ceremony. Just a silent and reflective time to remember those we lost, honor the brave men and women who rushed to help, and all those that continue to suffer this day.

"It's important we never forget what happened that day 20 years ago and the impact those terrorist attacks had on our country, on our town, and the Somerset Hills area," states Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce President & former Bernards Township Mayor, Al LiCata.

People are asked to come and visit the memorial at the Lyons Train Station. The marker, donated by NJ Transit and the living memorial tree planted by the township. While a similar memorial is at the Basking Ridge station, the Lyons Station has seating for those which require such.

People are asked to come and remain silent for the one hour in which the towers fell and so many hearts were silenced. There will be no speeches, no official start or conclusion remarks. This is purely a way for people to come together, remember, reflect and show their continued love.

The Remembrance is free and open to the public. People are free to leave flowers and such at the marker listing all the names of those lost from the township that day. "Everyone marks this date in their own way. For those wishing to just be with others and silently reflect, this is a dignified way to come together and do just that," concluded LiCata.
