Health & Wellness:
This very active committee of Chamber members works year round to plan events, programs and provide information to members and the general public regarding healthy living, dealing with health issues and a free annual Health Fair.
Serves as the connection between the business community and community initiatives, and is a resource for any group looking for volunteers, connections to pitch their ideas to, or consultancy. Suggests programs rooted in the community such as food drives, school programs, etc. Work with the Town Planner to ensure that as many events as possible are promoted there.
Handles all aspects of chamber sponsored events and programs. Presents ideas to Board for approval, develops Ad Hoc committees for larger events (Golf Outing, Taste of the Chamber, Christmas Market, etc.) and oversees all other events (Safe Trick or Treat, Mardi Gras, Music & Munch, etc.), acquires sponsors and outlines advertising opportunities for events, generates media attention, offers members in good standing opportunities to get involved, market their businesses and so on.
Recruits and cultivates new members and retain existing members. This committee focuses on the monthly business networking events as a way to encourage membership and participation. Committee members are encouraged to serve as mentors to new and inactive members by introducing them to other members, advising them on how to become more involved (i.e., serving on an event committee). These members serve as the ambassadors to the rest of the Chamber membership in order to build strong retention. Utilizes website and Facebook to encourage membership and to make the process of getting applications as easy as possible. Makes recommendation for new member benefits.
Member Business Support Center:
Providing a member mentoring program, Q&A service, educational information on all aspects of running a business, liasion with SBA and lenders, etc.
Lines up topics and speakers for chamber Biz2Biz event and special topic/seminars that cover insurance, business management, time saving techniques, payroll, etc. Helps identify all outlets for promoting said events and includes follow up to all attendees, member or not.
Help to make updates to the website, including member additions, deletions, descriptions, calendar, etc.
